JEREMY SCHAAP - ESPN CO-ANCHOR
He is also a contributor on ESPN’s Outside the Lines and SportsCenter . Schaap has worked four major soccer events for ESPN as the network's lead reporter, including: the 2010 & 2014 World Cup and Euro 2012 & 2106. Additionally , Schaap is the host of the award-winning weekly radio show and podcast The Sporting Life . He is a regular contributor to Nightline and ABC World News Tonight and has been published in Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, Time, Parade, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
In 2015, Schaap won the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Award . He has also won two national Edward R. Murrow Awards, two National Headliner Awards and twelve national Sports Emmy Awards. Schaap has been nominated for the national Sports Emmy Award in journalism ten times and he won the Dick Schaap Award for Outstanding Writing at the 2005 Emmy’s.
Schaap is the son of the late journalist and broadcaster Dick Schaap . Like his father, Schaap is an alumnus of Cornell University. He graduated from Staples High School and returned to his hometown where is currently resides in Westport CT with his wife and three children.
SpeakEasy is a speaker series designed to bring the Weston community together. The series will showcase prominent individuals who will speak on a variety of diverse topics. The program was organized by Weston neighbors with generous support from the Weston Public Library and the Friends of the Weston Public Library.
